How to get a quality psychic intuitive consultation and not get ripped off!   By JimmiRae

I would like to say that it is indeed a downright shame that I should have to write this piece in the first place, yet, there are those out there that make this a very important document not only be read, but perhaps to be committed to memory as well.

In the 1970's, Cher sang a song called "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" and I find that a perfect moniker for the subject matter I shall be addressing here for you. I desire to impress upon you that there are takers out there posing as "gifted psychics" and that they are ready, willing and quite able to take your money (we're talking a LOT of money here too) and take you on a round circle ride to nowhere except possibly the police station where you shall ultimately wind up attempting to get some or possibly all of your money back.

There are certain ways and clues that I have found most beneficial in spotting these fraudulent money-grubbing charlatans and vampires. A lot of them were handed down this con job as a tradition of making money. It reeks of unprofessional, unacceptable downright dirtiness, and is not at all fair to those who are making honest livings at keeping the intuitive counseling business at the highest standards possible, being an intuitive is no joke nor laughing matter. We must be taken as seriously as a Doctor or anyone else in the field of care, as care is exactly what this business is all about. If you are not a caring, empathetic, well-trained and compassionate individual, your days in this field are indeed numbered.

As we approach this new millennium with high standards of not having to repeat the mistakes of our past again, let us concentrate as well, if not more, on the spiritual aspect of things at hand as well, after all, everyone and everything comes from spirit which is our natural state and shall always return to spirit as well. That's that.

Now, not to cast any aspersions on any race of people, as my uncle's wife was a Romana herself…but in the past to present day, the "Gypsies" have not made a good name for themselves in the metaphysical arts. What do you summon up in your mind when you hear the term "Gypsy" besides the Broadway musical auto-bio concerning the life of Miss Rose Lee of burlesque fame? You have probably conjured up the image of an old woman in a bandana wearing something common place yet ornate and with golden hoop earrings all a glimmer in the crystal ball she's clutching, right? I suppose we are used to the archetype of the great character actress of times gone by, Maria Ouspenskaya, as the old gypsy woman "Maleva" in the 1941 film "The Wolf Man".

There are certainly a lot of tricksters out there waiting to pounce on you today as well, but once you read this, you'll know better. One of their trademarks are the absolutely outrageous claims that they make, either via the phone, in person or on their business cards or advertisements. These claims include:

  • Reunites Lovers/Returns Lover (That would conflict with the Divine Right of Free Will)
  • Immediate Results (Let me start my stopwatch now…)
  • Tells Your Fortune (Fortune Telling does not exist!)
  • Knows Why You Have Come (The "Great and Powerful OZ" did that!)
  • Clears Negativity (used in this context, usually a Buzz-Word)
  • Calls themselves "Mother", "Sister" or "Brother"(This must make them sound better, who knows?)
  • Rev. "So in So" (check them out, Reverend of WHAT?)
  • Guaranteed (You cannot put a linear "Guarantee" on anything of Spiritual Nature.)
  • Gifted, Never Fails (Everyone fails sometime! That's called LIFE!)
  • Improves Bad Luck (There's no such thing as "Luck")
  • Complimentary/No Charge For Services (Oh really! Then I guess my $2000.00 upfront was just a "suggested donation"?)

These are just a simple and few quick signals that should send up a red flag in you when you see them letting you know to stay away or suffer the consequences. I have had clients who have been to some of these self proclaimed authorities before and have been preyed upon for thousands upon thousands of dollars, some of which to never see their monies returned at all. If you see a storefront, sign or boutique with a bright neon sign in the shape of a hand or some stars, again, be very cautious. Remember the Academy Award winning Whoopi Golberg character "Oda Mae Brown" from the film "Ghost"? Now there's a good general example to start with. If you have not seen this film, please do, or if you have, watch it again, it's well worth it.

When you are face to face with one of these kind, they tend to put up a very religious exterior to distract you. Lot's of burning candles and religious oriented pictures, usually a "Holy Bible" so that you may put your cash gift in an envelope and seal it before you are instructed to lay the envelope of money, which is termed a "Love Gift", into a certain page or chapter of the book. You can kiss that "Love Gift" goodbye right then and there.

It shall also not be too very long before they tell you of this dark element or "curse" that is on you, and why God has sent you to them as only they can "remove" it. Here's where the big game starts, they shall explain that removing your curse in general, Is not going to be a very easy task and that you have to make some sacrifices to God to lift the curse… this is where you shall get it very clear that "God" likes sacrifices of money, LOTS of money, and if you choose not to comply, then woe to you & yours!

At such time, you may say either you cannot afford it or perhaps do not believe in this curse, to which you shall then be asked to go get either an egg or a tomato and bring it back to them. This is where the magic trick comes in. If you bring them an egg or a tomato they will break it open to reveal a mass of dark goo, saying that that is a part of the evil curse over you in manifest. Unfortunately by this time, most poor souls are lost and their checkbooks are wide open! If you are fortunate, at least once a year, either 20/20 or a comparable telecast does an expose on these said thieves and their games they play.

There are actual intuitive who know their stuff out there and are not out to milk your funds dry as well. These are the ones who work in the light and with the skills of trained Doctors or Scientists in their fields and leave the hocus-pocus and fortune-telling to the phonies posing as real people. Let me give you a few tips on finding a bona-fide intuitive counsel.

  1. They have a reputation and it shouldpreceded them.
  2. They should be able to explain to you in plain english just what they do and why.
  3. They will never charge you an amount that would put you in debt, and can tell you just how much a consultation costs up front, not after. Usually on a time basis, i.e. X amount of Dollars per hour. (This does not mean that you can sit for another hour after your consultation talking their time away and not paying, Time is Money and this is their job as well.) Also, This does not include a tip if you are so inclined.
  4. They are notembarrassedd nor afraid to tell you if they do not know.
  5. They will usually tell you how to contact them for a follow up if you desire, They are not ready to run & hide out.
  6. You feel no fear and know that you are in safe hands.
  7. You can simply "feel" the difference.
  8. They will never push you into having a reading, or expect you to be back in a few days unless you are in crisis.

In closing, the bottom line is to be very selective when you choose an intuitive to work with and not someone from the back of a tabloid magazine or someone who promises to create some miracle for you. If there is a miracle for you, then you must do the homework, as an intuitive can only guide you… and remember, If there be any real "Magic or Luck" at all, it is YOU. The power lies in your own Divinity and not with some bad actors out of work telling you of curses, boogie-men and the like while trying to milk your bank account dry. I stand firm by my comments and upon my own reputation in this matter.
