Hydergine is an extract of ergot, discovered at the same Sandoz labs where Albert Hofmann stumbled upon its mind-blowing cousin, LSD. Ergot is a fungus that grows on rye, and from these humble beginnings came not only the drug that changed the entire world in the 60's, but a number of other derivatives, including Hydergine. When tests showed that some of these ergot derivatives increased cognitive abilities in the elderly, Sandoz began to dump big bucks into the research and development of

Hydergine in particular. It is a popular treatment for senility both in the U.S. and abroad, and can also have other effects such as increasing oxygen supply to the brain and reducing tiredness and its symptoms.

THE DOWNSIDE: Although Hydergine is yet another smart drug that allegedly does not have any serious side effects, when too much of the drug is taken, nausea, stomach and intestinal distress, and/or headaches can occur. Non-toxic at even high doses, Hydergine is contraindicated for those with chronic or acute psychosis, and to those who may be allergic to it. Ironically, an Hydergine O.D. can have an amnesic effect. Available only by prescription in the U.S., or via the Mexico & overseas markets.
