Mythologically, Pallas was a warrior goddess and her asteroid definitely has
a feisty side. She can indicate competition, rivalry and fighting for
justice. She is often prominent in charts of artists, counselors, political
activists, consultants (including astrologers), and people who do lots of
one-on-one interaction. Pallas can be a key to perception and wisdom and may
be involved with perceptual difficulties (e.g., dyslexia). Feminism is often
a part of the picture with Pallas, and father issues may be significant.
(Athena was "born" from her father's forehead in the myth--no mother at
all.) Issues of equality, balance, and fair play may be central.
Pallas seems to have some Libra qualities (the focus on interactions with
other people and relating as well as the artistic emphasis), but she also
has overtones of Sagittarius or Aquarius with the concern for justice, equal
opportunity, and legal matters. Relationships are more independent, more
"impersonal."
One man had Pallas conjunct the Moon in Aquarius. His mother was an artist
and a free soul. When I spoke with him, she had been traveling and working
in Mexico for several months. He was worried about her, but she was very
independent and didn't see any need to check in with him. He feel she was a
"cool, airy" mother who was very independent and into her art, not a whole
lot into mothering. She was also very courageous (off to Mexico on her own).
One client had Pallas and Neptune conjunct her Midheaven and her profession
is feminist spirituality.
One individual, who has Pallas conjunct Neptune in Virgo in the 7th, is a
nun who is involved in feminist spirituality, shamanism, and alternative
counseling.
