Few skills are as vital in today's world as communication. It is a
major factor in relationship successes and failures. It can contribute to
one's vocational success (or lack thereof). Communication (or blocks to it)
are vital in parent/child interactions. In almost every area of life, if we
can put our ideas forth in a manner easily understood by others, we will
fare better. If we can speak the language of our listener, we will be
"heard." Astrology can be a helpful tool in that it offers insights
regarding people's different communication styles--and tips for how to get
through to different people. Following is a description of several
different communication styles depicted by astrology. You can probably
recognize some of these styles within people you know!
The Entertainer is a wonderful conversationalist. His stories are
impressive, and he has quite good dramatic instincts. He uses the pregnant
pause, the art of exaggeration, and his powerful, dynamic voice to have a
strong impact. People may notice his tendency to over inflate
accomplishments or use a bit of dramatic license, but he's such fun, they
seldom call him on it. He shines in fields involving advertising,
promotion, sales, etc. His gestures and general manner are larger than
life; people find him hard to overlook. He's usually the center
conversation, rarely off in the corner.
The Diplomat has an unerring instinct for what people want to hear.
She is the perfect hostess, knowing whom to seat by whom. She's clued into
all the feuds and fights among her friends, and manages to keep feathers
from being ruffled when everyone is in her sphere. She is a master at
soothing over awkward moments and defusing angry responses. Sometimes
people wonder whose side she is really on--or if she changes sides all the
time--but her ability to compromise and find common, middle grounds is a
great gift socially and vocationally.
